How To Check out A Merchant’s Affiliate Website

Of course, this type of website is not yours. This may seem an obvious thing to say but people can forget when they go into affiliate marketing that they do not control the merchant’s sales site. That is, they’re totally dependent on the look, feel, organisation, and copywriting of that site.

Firstly, just check it over yourself! Would you be convinced by it and buy from it? If not, can you see yourself selling their product?

Secondly, what’s its Page Rank? This will give you an indication of how Google(TM) sees its importance.

Thirdly, what’s its Alexa(TM) ranking? Just go to the Alexa site and type in the URL. The lower the number the better. You can also check its traffic there and how old it is. The older it is, the more long lasting.

Fourthly, if you found the product on a site like Clickbank(TM), you can tell whether it’s selling very well. If it is, and you think the website is a poor one, affiliates must be getting round this somehow.

Fifthly, go into the Google Keyword Tool(TM) to check the site’s keywords. Make sure the button is clicked for searching a URL. Ensure it’s set for all countries and that when you get results you change from broad to narrow results. You’ll have the keywords the website is using to attract search traffic.

None of these pieces of research are guaranteed to give you exact information but they’re a guide if you’re concerned about the website or the product.

Affiliate Internet Marketing Absolute Basics!

Affiliate internet marketing is a massive subject since it also involves internet marketing. However, you can get started fast if you cover the minimum basics to making some profit from affiliate marketing.

1 Choose your niche which should preferably be something you know about. If you choose the make money niche you’ll probably need to gather quite a bit of knowledge first as your preparation.

2 Choose a product, perhaps in an affiliate directory. Make sure it’s original, solves a genuine problem in your niche, and appeals to the   masses. Join the affiliate program.

3 Find keywords, in such as the Google Keyword  Tool(TM) related to your product. Then, find how much competition you have by searching in Google(TM) for each keyword in “quote marks”. The more the searches and the less the competion the better.

4 Presell the product by setting up a landing page or blog and writing about the product’s benefits in terms of the problem it solves. You will need hosting, an HTML text editor (there are free ones), and preferably an autoresponder so they can sign up for your newsletter as well as go through to the merchant’s sales site.

5 Presell, as said, by having an ezine. Give the most valuable information you can, without giving so much that your reader doesn’t need to buy the product. This is the same for your blog. In this way you build trust. So, do make make sure your original choice of product is the right one.

Different marketers have different ways of doing these steps and, of course, there’s a lot more detail you could use not mentioned here. In fact, every marketer is different, so try to find your own style, and techniques you like best, in affiliate internet marketing.

5 Ways To Tell If You’ve A Great Product So You Can Make Money Today!

Here’s a very old and common question: “How can I make money today?” To do that, it’s absolutely basic to have a great product. Here’s how to tell if you have that sort of product to sell, either as an affiliate, a resell rights product or your own.

Firstly, before you get a product of any sort you must look in your niche and see what worries, problems and questions people have. Then get a product that will remove those worries, solve that problem and give solid answers to those questions. Ask yourself: “Why would anyone want to buy it?” It may be the greatest software, or a thousand page ebook packed full of information, or the smoothest and clearest audio, video and ecourse anyone has ever seen. But it won’t sell unless it solves worries, problems or questions. Ask yourself: “Would I buy this product in this niche today?”

Secondly, it must help the masses. Your neighbour, uncle George, and your spouse may find it all very interesting and even be willing to buy it. But you’d hardly call it a way to make money today. As with your research in the first point, there must also be enough people wanting such a product, and willing to buy it. If there aren’t, then you won’t make any money worth talking about. So, deal with the masses.

Thirdly, your product must be original in some way, or preferably unique. You could take another type of product and make some additions to it or streamline it in some way. Whatever you need to do without actually copying the first product. On the other hand, you may have an idea that is unique and has not been thought of before. For example, you might have a unique way of communicating with customers that is nowhere on the market. The problem with these methods? They take time beyond today. The quickest way to sell such a product today is be an affiliate for one – so you’ll have to search around for it, but it can be found today.

Fourthly, just as you might be thinking: “I want to make money today”, your potential customer is thinking: “I want a solution to my worries/problem/question today, in fact immediately.” They have to “see” in their mind’s eye as they read your copy on a sales site or email or blog that this is indeed their immediate solution. And then, when they download it, it had better be the fast solution they expected. Otherwise, it’s refunds and a bad name in your niche.

Fifthly, even better than seeing in their mind’s eye is the visitor or reader actually seeing it working, or at least operating, in front of them immediately. That is, you can show them how it works or will be useful. Now, of course, this is easiest with scripts or software right on the page. However, you could show the effects of information in an ebook or ecourse on your and others’ bottom line. Or show small demonstrations of parts of the information’s instructions. This is where testimonials, too, can be so important: telling how it works, and possibly showing how parts of the information work in their business. Again, these last things take time, so software is probably best so you can make money today.

To make money today then you ideally need an affiliate software product that can be shown to work on the page your visitors read. It also needs to be original, solves worries, problems or questions in your niche, and appeals to the masses.

Home Business Internet Marketing Basics!

So, you want a home business internet marketing.  Here’s how, with these 5 simple rules – though remember that nobody said it would be easy. This is based on being an affiliate for somebody else’s product.

Discover a niche (even within internet marketing) and find a product that will sell to that niche.

Search for keywords at Google Keyword Tool and find out how much competition there is. Choose a niche where there are preferably desparate buyers. Let’s say you focus on traffic and getting it through using bookmarking. Choose a product with some worth that can be trusted. If it’s software, make sure it works and it’s reliable. If someone buys a dud product through you, you may never see them again – and they could spread negativity about you. Don’t just pick any old product or because it looks or seems OK.

It’s best to presell your visitors.

Have a landing page or blog, including a newsletter, where you can spend a little time getting visitors to trust you. How? By giving them genuine and really valuable information, including about the product.  If you have a landing page, for example, presell by giving genuine benefits for the reader, and address any nagging worries they may possibly have. Even give a problem you’ve had with the product and explain how you overcame it or your attitude to it. Be honest but obviously it has to be a product you yourself would buy and use.

Test your site.

If you can, test different headlines or words in the body of the text or your listed benefits. Only do one at a time. This is to see what works best in getting the best sales.

Create a content website or blog as a base for your home business internet marketing.

Give your visitors reasons to keep coming back. You don’t just want them to read the presell page once and then pass on, never to be seen again. So, give valuable and interesting information, in your newsletter too, to engage your readers and make them want to keep returning.

Scale up as soon as you can.

Once you start getting some sales, see what other tactics and strategies you could use to get more sales or more subscriptions. This is a never-ending process. It’s also a way to have methods you can transfer to other products later on in your home business internet marketing.

3 Key Online Business Ideas!

Here are 3 online business ideas you can start from almost scratch. You only need money for, at minimum, a hosting account and an autoresponder account. You could even do without the autoresponder if you’re not bothered about building your list at first, or you could get a free version with adverts in. However, do not get a free hosting account as you could have lots of adverts and they might close down suddenly.

Idea One

Sell someone else’s product as an affiliate. Choose your niche and choose a product within it with a good (at least 50%) return on the price. Or go to Clickbank(TM) and choose a product from there. With this idea you don’t even need a hosting account. You set up a presell page, your own sales or review page, about the product, at a site such as Squidoo. Give the benefits of the product and how it can be useful or solve a problem for the reader. Make sure you’re using good keywords in your preselling. At the end, direct them to the merchant’s sales page. They’ll do the rest, including sending you the money. Get traffic to the presell page by writing articles. This is probably the easiest of the online business ideas.

Idea Two

Set up a content site. A blog is best for this as you can keep adding material. Choose something you’re interested in that you can write about – preferably you already have some expertise or authority in the topic. But make sure enough people will be interested in the topic, and enough interested people will buy products to do with that topic. Do your research on keywords in the topic, and your competition. For example, I don’t know how many are interested in albino mice but if that was my interest, I’d have to find out. If you can’t sell stuff, then your website is a hobby site, not a business.

Idea Three

Create your own product on a subject about which you have some knowledge and you know beforehand (this is vital) there are enough people who will buy from you. You could end up with a range of related products, sold on separate sites, some sold in packages, or all in a membership site. However, even with one product at the start, you can diversify once you get going. Let’s say it’s an ebook or report. You could put this on audio, do a video, or sell the whole lot as a physical product. This is the most powerful of the online business ideas because it’s your product you can do anything with.

I know there will people read this post and say to themselves or someone else or both – well, I know that!

They’ve read this information before, so what’s so great about it? What’s the point of repeating it?

I admit there are no how-to details here. That’s not the point of the article.

The point is here are 3 methods you can use to at least get a web presence of some sort, or make some money.

And the bigger point is that knowledge, and even understanding, don’t mean a thing in internet marketing. You might know all the methods under the sun to make money, seen all the videos, read all ebooks, been to $5K seminars…

So what?

There are only three questions you should ask yourself:

What’s your web presence?

How much money have you made?

Have you helped/supported/encouraged your customers, subscribers, visitors?

If you can’t even set up a Squidoo lense for nothing and choose an affiliate product to sell for nothing, and yet continue to criticise at this basic level, what hope is there for you?

If you have got started in some shape or form – fantastic! I hope to meet you one day in your great or limited success!
