Is Money Making Online For You?

Money making online requires total focus in two senses.

One is you need to focus on yourself. This might seem odd but it’s really the important focus. It doesn’t mean in a selfish way. Rather, you need to look at yourself and ask what it is you can bring to internet marketing and the business you want to build. Why? Because you want to build a long-term business and not just a few (you hope) money making websites. See this post on mindset.

If you stick to those types of websites you’ll limit both yourself and your business. People used to put up Adsense(TM) sites and just leave them, generating a small amount of money as long as they did the search engine optimization right. But this isn’t really a business. It’s a sideline. You need to be able to develop from your first websites and grow your business on a larger scale, into other areas of making money online, and even, perhaps, into different types of products or niches.

This attitude of building a business means you really do need to give value, in quality and money terms, to your subscribers and customers. You want your subscribers and customers to go along with you, so you have to be concerned about their needs online. Relationship building in a professional and helping way is key to your own success, as well as theirs. So, you must have a focus on yourself.

Two is the focus on your business. This seems simple or obvious. But it means going through the processes necessary to get the results you want. This can be looked at in two ways.

Firstly, for example, setting up a website. It needs to be search engine optimized so the search engines will spider it and index it. At a minimum you have to find the keywords you want to concentrate on once you’ve decided on your product or niche. Then use the most important keyword in the domain, title, and so on. In addition, keywords focus you down to the benefits you want to emphasise.

Secondly, focusing on what your customers want – not what you think they need. Let your subscribers and customers tell you through blogs, forums, surveys and whatever way you can find.

Making money online long-term requires a focus on yourself as well as both a business and customer focus.

Exactly How Do You Get Your Mind “Set”?

I wrote here about the importance of mindset and thought I would add more information on the subject as I see it.

Mostly, I don’t agree there are any “secrets” or a “secret”.

There is no need for a mystical view about improving your life. Nor that it’s necessary to think of the supernatural. Rather, everything is nature. We’re in it.

What’s vitally important is your brain. It runs everything in the whole world of humankind.

In that brain – which is basically the same in everybody – is you.

However, there are two basic you’s.

There’s your conscious you – which is self conscious, where you do your conscious thinking, and where you are aware of yourself and the world around you.

But there’s another you – the unconscious you. This you runs your body, your dreams at night, your intuitions and feelings. Ever felt a rising up of powerful feelings and you’re not sure why, and you maybe had to consciously control them? Also, intuitions are thoughts at the speed of light – not heavy-footed like conscious thinking.

But your unconscious you will quite happily run on in its usual way. It has no purpose or direction.

Consciousness is all purpose and direction.

To achieve something you need both. However, your conscious you must take charge. If you wait for a flash of inspiration from the unconscious you’ll wait for ever. It just isn’t bothered. It has to be told to bother.

When it is told in no uncertain terms, it will come up with plenty of ideas and be on the lookout for related situations, people, etc. It will be alert for what it’s been told it needs to do.

The unconscious is far more powerful than the conscious you. But the conscious needs to lead the unconscious, like a light beam in the dark. And they need to work together.

In other words, it isn’t magic. It’s natural – it’s built into our biology. But like any tool, it has to be used, and used in the correct way.

This is partly what I meant by focus. Focus is the most important element in having  your mind “set” like a compass.

You have everything you need between your ears :)
