Ezine Content – Where To Get It

Everybody wants content these days and not just any old content. If you’ve got an ezine you need to keep producing it from somewhere.

1 Yourself. You are your own best writer for your own ezine. It should have your style and tone, individual to you. Keep notes on ideas for articles, read other ezines and blogs, as well as ebooks and offline books. It is your ezine so the heart of it should be your ideas.

2 Interview. A common tactic is to interview another marketer and either write it out yourself in normal prose or set it out as an interview with the actual words spoken or written. In fact, you haven’t got to speak to anybody for this. You could email four or five questions to someone, with their permission gained first. They send their responses back.

These can sometimes be a bit lacklustre and superficial. It’s probably best to try and get someone well known or in the internet news.

3 PLR. Private Label Rights material could be used, especially if rewritten by you. Of course, you probably will never own the copyright to it. Plus, it’s difficult to find good enough material to actually place in front of your loyal subscribers.

4 Public domain. If you’re willing to search around, you might find some public domain texts usable if broken up into articles. This can take some time. While you’re doing that, almost as a fishing trip, you could be writing your own stuff instead.

Private Label Rights Products And Their Uses

Although it is best if you write your own material, such as articles, Private Label Rights or PLR materials can be used sometimes if they’re of good enough quality. The problem is that so much of it isn’t of decent quality, even in the writing of English, so you have to choose very carefully.

Post or submit it. If it is of good quality you could post it onto your blog or submit it to article directories. However, remember that lots of other people might have the exact same article. Therefore, there could be a problem with duplicate content on one site and also getting enough traffic from it through search results.

Rewrite it. You can change the writing completely to make it your own article. You have to change it enough so that it probably wouldn’t be recognised from the original. This can be just as onerous a task as writing a completely new article from scratch. It isn’t necessarily an easier method.

Use different formats. A variation on simply rewriting it once, is to use a variety of ways of presenting the material. For example, you could change it into a How-to article, a FAQ set of questions and answers or a ten-best list. It does give readers a different way of accessing the information for better understanding.

Use on forums. You could use it or some of the material on forums or answer sites. If it’s good enough you could use it to start discussions, especially if it raises questions.

Use as a free gift. If you put some articles together in a coherent way, you could have a report to give away for sign ups to your ezine or you could use them in the ezine itself.
